Happy Australia Day! Thought I’d make a bannana raspberry & blackberry smoothy

Day 5 baby!

Okay so it’s officially the last day of the attack phase on the Dukan diet and I am happy to say I kicked dukan butt!

I ate lots of meats mainly steak, salmon, sliced turkey and ham and also yoghurt and oat bran, drank lots of water, green tea, peppermint tea (i’m not into anything diet because I don’t think it’s terribly good for you). It wasn’t as bad as I thought and I lost 2.2kgs so far so about So around 5 pounds! Not bad but probably a whole heap of fluids. But it’s great motivation and I like having a challenge to stick too!

I start cruise phase tomorrow and finally get to eat me some veggies :) I admit the protein has made me feel really full all the time and last night I could barely eat the Salmon I cooked for dinner.

New year, fresh start! The dukan way

Happy New Year everyone! I love this time of year, full of new resolutions and motivation to kick start the year after all that naughty food over the Christmas break..mmm yum! I always love seeing the amount of people exercising outside almost doubles in the first week of the new year.. Give them a few more days and they will start dropping off like flies..

Anyways, reminiscing on 2011 I had a pretty good year.  Ate pretty healthy, I actually lost around 7kilos but I put it back on when I went on holidays to Europe and then a cruise to NZ argghh..  But all in all I ate really healthy that’s the main thing.  I ate healthy of the cruise and exercised most days (can you believe that.. seriously who does that on a cruise? ) I just want those abs I have always dreamed of but never achieved, just once pretty please!!!

So anyway I heard about the dukan diet, a relative of mine has just done phases 1 & 2 (attack and cruise) and looks just sensational.  I have known her my whole life and I have never seen her this tiny before. I heard her talk about it a bit and I wasn’t super serious on giving it a go because I always been determined to loose it on my own without any diet.. (I hate that word) but the more I thought about it, the more I was like yeah I can do this! Eat meat 5 days straight? Sure.. why not! I have always liked my meat I guess..

The cracking point when I’d scoffed down a whole box of Maltesers and I was thinking to myself.. this is not even satisying or enjoyable. I feel incredibility guilty (which explains why obviously I have to wolf it down).  So instead of waiting till 1  January 2012 - I gave myself a head start (29 December) :).  It felt right to start then and I guess somewhere in the back of my head I knew if there was a chance I stuffed up I could start again in the new year and not get so disheartened.. after all there are M n M’s and Maltesers lerking (not mine) around the house.. Check out my updates on my progress in 2012 :)

PS - apologies if I say Dunkan instead of Dukan.. I keep thinking of dunkin donuts.. mm delciousness
